Parks and Lakes
Delhi is famous for its vast lawns and well-maintained royal gardens that are ideal for a long stroll or a brisk jog.
Children's Park
Situated near India Gate, this is a favourite picnic site for Delhi families. Cotton candy, popcorn, peanuts and ice cream from street vendors add to its attraction for kids. The park also has swings, slides, a jungle gym and an aquarium.
India Gate Lawns
Ideal for quiet walks contemplating life, the traffic, and your luck at not having kids to drag to the park across the road. The beautiful lake alongside gives you an opportunity to appreciate nature through boating.
Lodhi Garden
A huge park frequented by joggers and amorous young couples. But the size of the park makes it possible for them all to coexist peacefully with the many families picnicking. The garden is laid out around the beautiful tombs of the Lodhi and Sayyid Sultans who ruled north India in the 15th and the 16th century.
Mughal Gardens
Surrounded by the beautiful flowers, magnificent trees and impeccably manicured lawns, Mughal Gardens is situated behind the Rashtrapati Bhavan and is open to the public in the third week of February.
